Election address:

The last two years have seen a transformation in Unlock Democracy.

From a leaderless drift facing serious staffing and financial problems we now have a growing and enthusiastic membership and staff that are far more active on PR and the other democratic challenges we face.

I have contributed to the team effort serving on both the Management and Rodell Boards. Particular efforts of mine were - organising the PR fringe at the 2020 Labour Party Conference, where over 100 heard Clive Lewis MP – at the 2021 The World Transformed festival speaking as one of the pro-PR speakers in the debate with FPTP.

I am organising a special event on BAME communities and PR.

I represent UD on the Labour4NewDemocracy Steering Group which has led the effort to win over the Labour Party to PR. I spoke at the Unite fringe in Liverpool on PR prior to it taking the momentous decision to ditch FPTP.

I am the Political Officer in the Northumberland, Tyne & Wear Community Branch of Unite and serve on the Unite Regional Political Committee.

I am on the Labour Campaign For Electoral Reform Executive Committee.

I chair the Springfield Community Centre Management Board and am an Officer in the Tyneside Palestine Solidarity Campaign. I am a fundraiser for Medical Aid for Palestine.

I am always happy to talk with anyone in the Green, Liberal Democrat or Labour Parties about joint working for democratic change, as well as those not in any party! Please let me continue to contribute my energy and ideas.
