About me:

I am a 21 Year old Politics student who will be finishing University this year and beginning a new job in September. I'm a member of the Labour Party and Fabian Society, but I'm convinced that constitutional reform should be done in a non-partisan way and that everyone can be a winner. I'm a Cryptocurrency enthusiast, enjoy gaming, and for my sins support Everton FC

What I believe:

I'm a true believer in positive constitutional reform. I like to think that we cannot build a better country without a better political system first. With this in mind, I am fully behind the values of Unlock Democracy. We need a written constitution that includes:

  • A reworked House of Lords

  • A brand new voting system

  • A separation of powers between the branches of Government.

  • Enshrined protection of rights and liberties

  • Decentralisation of Political Power - More Local Control over decisions and policy.

Additionally, I also personally support:

  • The Three Legs of Direct Democracy - The Recall, the Initiative and the Veto Referendum.

  • Term Limits on Executive Offices like Mayorships

  • A Constitutional Court system to uphold a new constitution

My time on Council

I'm extremely grateful to have been given the chance by UD members to serve on the Council for the last two years. I've learned too much, met so many incredible people.

Over the last 2 years I have:

  • Helped UD develop a new strategy

  • Served on two interview panels to hire new Unlock Democracy Staff members

  • Co-sponsored a Term Limits amendment at AGM 2020

  • Served on the Unlock Democracy Management Board

  • Worked on a couple of independent projects

If re-elected:

  • The organisation has now shifted to a position in which we have an incredibly gifted and talented staff team that drives what we do. A first pledge, but one which I believe is important, is that I will continue to support our staff so they can do what they do best.

  • Begin an independent project to find how UD can harness Reddit to build our support.

  • Explore whether UD can take donations in Cryptocurrency.

  • Work to explore ways we can involve Members more; like a group chat, or forums function on the Unlock Democracy website.

  • Continue to have high attendance at allUnlock Democracy meetings.
